Can patients be billed directly through the platform?
Last updated: May 28, 2026
Not currently. Amissa operates on a B2B model: your practice pays a platform fee, and the patient app is provided to patients at no direct charge through the platform.
How the current model works
Amissa charges a per-clinician platform fee that covers unlimited patients, onboarding, support, and ongoing feature updates. There is no per-patient charge passed through to patients via Amissa.
Practices typically handle patient cost one of two ways:
Membership model: The platform fee is bundled into a practice's direct-pay or concierge membership tier, so patients don't see a separate Amissa charge.
Ad hoc: The cost is absorbed by the practice without a direct patient charge.
What patients pay (if anything)
Whether and how patients are charged is determined entirely by your practice. Amissa does not collect patient payment information, issue invoices to patients, or process patient-facing charges.
Coming soon: Patient billing support
We're building patient billing into Amissa. The planned model will allow practices to sponsor patients for a set period — for example, covering the first three months — after which patient billing can begin automatically through the platform. We'll share more details when this feature launches.
